“I highly recommend Monique and the law firm of Trocki/Paquin. Monique was professional and thorough throughout the whole process. During our first meeting, she took her time talking with me to fully gain an understanding of my circumstances and gave thoughtful suggestions and recommendations. During the process, she responded very quickly to any questions I had and resolved the matter at hand perfectly and in a very timely manner. She was very knowledgeable and direct in her interactions, while also taking the time to explain things in a very understandable way. I will be contacting Monique again in the future should I have any further need for a lawyer.”

Monique prides herself on being a competent, reasonable and persistent advocate who is organized, easy to work with and highly communicative.
While realistic, Monique is also an optimist and first approaches every case as if it can (and should) be resolved amicably and efficiently. When that approach proves it will not be effective, either at the get go or at any point in the process, Monique uses her skillset to quickly pivot and determine the most effective strategies needed in order to best meet her client’s short- and long-term goals. While sometimes sought out in an attorney, Monique does not describe herself to be “aggressive,” or a “shark,” but rather, assertive and strategic.
Never interested in the hustle and bustle environment of a large firm in the city, Monique greatly values and has been practicing for, and now alongside, Kristine in scenic Jamestown for nearly a decade and her entire legal career. The ability to practice law in the calm and peaceful coastal setting of Jamestown makes all the difference to Monique in staying grounded in an otherwise stressful and demanding profession. With the responsibility of managing a client’s matter, which are often complete with high emotions, complex financial issues, contested issues, as well as stress and unknowns, Monique navigates clients through the process as efficiently as she can while lightening the load on client’s shoulders as much as she can.
The ultimate form of compliment to Monique on top of hearing the level of impact made in one person’s life, is when her competency, professionalism, responsiveness and skills are often noted and appreciated by opposing parties/counsel.

Monique tries her best to remember to slow down from the chaos of everyday life in order to soak up each and every moment she gets to spend with her young daughter, Mallory - who is her ultimate form of joy and stress relief.
When not working, Monique enjoys spending time with her family at Mackerel Cove or other Rhode Island beaches, trying new local restaurants, enjoying creative outlets such as cooking, crafting or organizing, as well as traveling with her family when she can.
Monique served as the Executive Director of the Jamestown RI Chamber of Commerce from 2016-2019.
Kauai, Hawaii is Monique’s all-time favorite vacation destination, although through a pandemic and now raising a young toddler, she probably won’t be back soon enough given the 12+ hour plane trip.
After always envisioning a career in criminal justice or prosecution (including voluntarily being tased during an internship with a police department), Monique was ultimately directed to the private practice of law given her interest in close client interactions and relationships.
Kristine and Monique are so close-knit that Monique asked Kristine (who accepted) to become a wedding officiant in order to marry her and her husband, Brian.
